We need to talk. Yes, I know we always talk, but today, we really need to talk.

Are you taking care of yourself? No really…I mean truly taking care of yourself?

Let’s talk about self-care.

Self-care refers to the intentional practices that a person engages in to maintain their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. In other words, it helps people to improve their health, manage stress, enhance their quality of life.

When you think of self-care, what comes to mind? Massages? Hair appointments? Nail appointments? Well, you are not wrong.  All of these things can be self-care acts, but there are so many more things we can add to the list.

Self-care refers to the intentional practices that a person engages in to maintain their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

There are different types of self-care: physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and professional.

Some self-care activities that you may not have considered to be self-care include wearing clothes that you make you feel good about yourself, participating in fun activities, expressing yourself in a healthy way, having stimulating conversations, spending time with people you truly like, asking others for help when needed, participating in causes that are important to you, etc.

I know that my clients are tired of hearing about self-care, but I will never stop. Effective self-care is the foundation of healthy stress management. When you take care of yourself, you can manage the craziness of every day life a lot better.

Do me a favor; take an assessment of your self-care, and if you are not pleased with it, create a plan…a realistic plan.

You take care of everybody else, so why not take care of yourself?

Effective self-care is the foundation of healthy stress management.

You deserve intentional care.

Take care (pun intended!),
